- Summary
- Northwest Naturals Frozen Chicken Recipe (cat food/protein topper, 2 lb bags, Lot B-5) and Frozen Raw Diet for Dogs Chicken Recipe (6 lb bags, Lot B-19) were voluntarily recalled in August 2026 after FDA testing confirmed contamination with Salmonella and/or Listeria monocytogenes. Both bacteria can cause illness in dogs and cats that consume the contaminated products, as well as in humans who handle them. Affected pets may show lethargy, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, vomiting, decreased appetite, and abdominal pain; healthy infected pets can also carry and spread the bacteria without displaying symptoms.
