Trend Term: Steve's Real Food Freeze Dried Chicken Recipe Cat and Dog Food
Summary: Steve's Real Food Freeze-Dried Chicken Recipe (1.25 lb bag, Lot C26022, Best By 1/22/2028), manufactured by Go Raw LLC, was voluntarily recalled on June 8, 2026 due to potentially low levels of thiamine (Vitamin B1), an essential vitamin required for normal carbohydrate metabolism and neurological function in both cats and dogs. Cats are considered more susceptible than dogs due to their higher dietary thiamine requirement and limited ability to compensate for inadequate intake. Clinical signs of deficiency range from early symptoms such as decreased appetite, vomiting, excessive salivation, and weight loss, to progressive neurological signs including a downward-bent neck, mental dullness, wobbly walking, circling, falling, and seizures; advanced untreated deficiency can be fatal.
