Cholecalciferol rodenticides (rat/mouse poison)

Hazard

Cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) rat/mouse bait disrupts calcium and phosphorus regulation, causing hypercalcemia and soft-tissue (especially kidney) calcification. Concentrated formulations mean even a small ingested amount can be dangerous. Signs (depression, loss of appetite, excessive thirst/urination, vomiting) are typically delayed 12–36 hours, with kidney damage progressing over the following days.
