- Summary
- Elite Treats Chicken Chips for Dogs is a 6-ounce bagged dog treat recalled in February 2026 by Elite Treats, LLC (Boca Raton, FL) due to potential Salmonella contamination in lot number 24045 (expiration 04/2027), distributed to feed stores across AL, FL, GA, NC, and SC. Salmonella can cause serious gastrointestinal illness in dogs, with symptoms including lethargy, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), vomiting, fever, decreased appetite, and abdominal pain; severe cases may involve shock, septicemia, or collapse. Some dogs may carry and shed the bacteria without showing symptoms, posing a transmission risk to other pets and people in the household.
